Unlike most virtual beauty brands, which can only render colors onto a pre-uploaded static image, Makeup Genius uses high-quality facial mapping algorithms that allow women to try on eyeliners, lip colors, and blush with different looks in real time. I also visited several different virtual beauty apps from brands like Revlon Sephora and made attempts to try on makeup from their app; needless to say, Sephora was the most challenging because not only do you need to set up an account to try the virtual try on, the VR makeup portion of the site is challenging to locate as a consumer will make you feel somewhat irritated. Revlon, which is L'orel's competitor in virtual makeup, uses a selfie similar to that of L'orel. However, the picture is not as accurate and sharply colored as L'ore Makeup Genius.
